Salary: $73037.00-$87999.00
Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
You will do:
- Complete assessments for children referred with swallowing and feeding difficulties including referrals from Special Care Baby Unit ( SCBU) and the children - s ward
- Provide appropriate, effective and timely therapy and intervention as indicated, including individual and/or group work
- Consider the child - s communication needs within the assessment and intervention plan
- Participate in specialist multidisciplinary developmental assessments for children referred for complex disabilities such as autism spectrum disorder
- Participate in specialist Feeding Team assessments and reviews
- Participate in video fluoroscopic swallowing studies
- Provide education and home programs to families and other carers
- Liaise with other internal and/or external professionals as indicated

We are a supportive and collegial service who like to have fun. The service is made up of occupational therapists, physiotherapists, speech language therapist. therapy assistant and psychologists. Our staff work in an interdisciplinary way to provide integrated care for children with a disability. We are innovative and committed to providing the best service we can and to developing new models of care to enable children and their families to maximise function for daily living
Moū - About you
We are looking for:
- Minimum of 3 years clinical practice desirable
- Experience in working with children with disability and their families preferably in a Child development service setting
- Experienced in the use of standardised speech and language assessments such as CELF-4 and the PLS-5 Preschool Language Scales
- Experience in the administration of the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule ( ADOS) desirable
- Paediatric dysphagia training and experience and experience in the completion of paediatric video swallow ( VFSS ) assessments desirable
