Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
Te Whare O Matairangi is an acute hospital ward that is a part of the Intensive Recovery Service (IRS). It is a 24 hour mental health assessment and treatment inpatient service for adults aged from 18 years, who are experiencing serious and acute mental health concerns. The focus is on recovery and returning people to their usual life with community support if needed. The team aims to provide the best possible clinical care in a respectful, supportive, safe and caring environment.
Mō tō mātou rōpū - About our team
IRS is one of the service groupings within the wider Mental Health Addictions and Intellectual Disability Services. IRS comprises of approximately 240 staff from a variety of clinical and administrative backgrounds. The service is led in partnership by the Operations Manager and Clinical Leader. As the name suggests the IRS encompasses services dedicated to responding and supporting those people and their whanau who may require urgent and acute responses and care. These services may be provided in a community setting or in hospital depending on the needs of the person.
Te Whare O Matairangi has Multi-Disciplinary Teams comprising of Medical Officers, Psychologists, Kaumatua, Registered Nurses, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists and Mental Health Support Workers.
Moū - About you
We are seeking experienced Registered Mental Health Nurses who have:
- Post registration in Mental Health
- Registered with New Zealand Nursing Council
- Meet police vetting requirements
- Have a current practising certificate
- Full NZ driving license
- A commitment to team work with an ability to participate effectively within a multi-disciplinary team
- Able to provide a high standard of care to our clients
- A good sense of humour
