Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role
Full time, 12 months fixed term positions
There are exciting opportunities for Registrars to join Te Whatu Ora, Te Matau a Māui Hawke’s Bay in full time positions. Applications are invited for the position of Dental Registrar for next year commencing in January 2024. The Oral Health Service offers supportive working conditions and is committed to excellent teaching.
Hawke’s Bay Hospital is a 400 bed hospital providing acute and elective care for the Hawke's Bay region. We have most major medical and surgical subspecialties on site (except cardiothoracic and neurosurgery), as well as paediatrics and O&G. We are well supported by a strong regional ICU team. We have strengthening Primary and Community health services and an increasingly integrated approach to health and health care.
The Hospital Dental Service provides dental care over four sites in Hastings, Napier and Wairoa. We currently have five Senior Dentists and are looking for full time Dental Registrars to join us. We have a clinical focus on medially compromised, tamariki and special needs patients and provide care in both outpatient and theatre settings. Our current Dental Registrars have the opportunity to attend maxillofacial theatres and outpatient clinics and we are also supported by a regional maxillofacial service. This role requires participation in a 1:4 on-call roster, providing acute dental and maxillofacial services. We enjoy close working relationships with the Community Oral Health Service, including delivering clinics in the community and combined professional development. The Hawke’s Bay Hospital Dental Service is a great working environment where you will be supported, have learning opportunities, increased clinical responsibility and become a more independent clinician.
If you’re not already living in Hawke's Bay and making the most of what's on offer, you should know it boasts an enviable lifestyle with great homes, superb schools, a burgeoning economy, and no traffic headaches. Whether you like living by the sea, next to the river, nestled in the hills, in a village community, or an art deco city...Hawke's Bay has it all.
