National Programme Manager - Iwi Māori Directorate

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated National Programme Manager to join our Iwi Māori group to support Water Services Reform as we embark on a transformative journey to improve the health and wellbeing of New Zealanders.

Safe, reliable, and affordable drinking water, wastewater and stormwater underpins the health and wellbeing of our communities. Large-scale, once-in-a lifetime reform is needed to ensure Aotearoa's precious water resource is effectively managed and protected today, and for future generations.

As National Programme Manager in the Iwi Māori group will provide structure and coherence to key programmes of work in the Iwi/Māori Group. This role will be responsible for the successful delivery of programme initiatives including programme management, contract management, information management/reporting and stakeholder management.

Success from the transition and establishment of the Water Services Entities will be achieved if it gives effect to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, removes existing barriers and prioritises system design on incorporating solutions that give effect to Iwi/Māori rights and interests.

If you have the following skills and experience, we would really like to hear from you:

  • You'll have extensive experience at a senior level in a variety of programme and project management or business transformation assignments with a track record of delivering multiple, complex projects on time, to specification and within budget
  • You'll bring significant experience working with Māori organisations, whanau, hapu and iwi development with ability to represent Water Services Reform with internal and external stakeholders
  • You'll have previous success in the design, implementation, and evaluation of Māori focused programmes
  • Your in-depth knowledge of methods and techniques for planning, monitoring and controlling programmes e.g. MSP will contribute to success in this role
  • You'll be experienced in coaching and leading in the use of programme methodology and programme management disciplines and providing support to your direct reports
