The Opportunity:
Gain valuable real-life experience & insights through the role of Dietitian, by joining our close knit and collaborative outpatient team. Our team is responsible for the nutritional management of clients and families with chronic diseases such as diabetes, chronic kidney disease, obesity or progressing through our bariatric surgery pathway. This role will sit within our renal dietetic service; working with patients on dialysis and in pre-dialysis clinics but with future scope to take on the renal inpatient caseload.
The ideal applicant is self-motivated and enjoys working in a flexible and challenging environment, has great verbal and written interpersonal skills, able to think outside the box, efficient in time management, and enjoy working both independently and as part of a strong quality-focussed team. You will also be involved with dietetic student training and encouraged to participate in service development and project work across the district.
We are flexible with hours and welcome applicants wanting full or part time employment.
Essential:
• BCapSc or BSc, and Post Grad Dip Diet or MSc Dietetics (or equivalent as recognised by the NZ Dietitians Board).
• NZRD with current annual practicing certificate
• 1-2 years clinical experience, with knowledge and experience of dietetic practice in renal/diabetes.
• An ability to relate and communicate clearly on difficult and complex matters with a range of healthcare professionals, patients, and dietetic colleagues
• Cultural awareness and understanding
• Self-motivated and enthusiastic
Desired:

• Motivational interviewing experience
