At the heart of Maritime New Zealand's success is the provision of a broad range of administrative and other business support functions. The purpose of the Business Support team is to provide coordinated, efficient and high quality support to the Board, Executive and various teams. This team plays an important organisational role in ensuring strong connections and collaboration within the team and across other support functions.
What you'll do:
We are looking for a switched on, highly capable and self-motivated individual to work in partnership with their DCE and is keen to be part of a dynamic organisation
As the Executive Assistant to the DCE, you'll be responsible for providing a range of support including diary and correspondence management, meeting and event organisation, administrative support and, from time to time, assistance with onboarding new employees, budgeting and reporting. You will also work closely with the Principal Advisor Governance to provide back-up and support for the Maritime NZ Board and for all other assigned board and Governance Committees.
What we're looking for is an individual who:
- Brings previous experience as an Executive Assistant role to a senior executive or manager.
- Possesses strong written communication skills and experience drafting a range of correspondence.
- Is able to identify risks and use well-developed problem solving skills and judgement.
- Has a flexible can do attitude, with a high degree of self-motivation and initiative.
- Demonstrates superior organisational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Has a passion for using digital tools and technology.
- Prides themselves on their integrity, operating with confidentiality and discretion at all times.
- Thrives in a busy and dynamic environment.
- Is an expert with MS Office and familiar with document management systems.
- Works in, and promotes, culturally safe and respectful behaviours, always being mindful of the cultural diversity of the industry and having regard to Te Ao Māori and Treaty of Waitangi principles.
