Surgical Ward - Timaru Hospital

Permanent, Part Time, 40 hours per Fortnight, Rostered Shifts

Right now, we - re looking for a Health Care Assistant with experience behind them to become part of the surgical ward team. The 40 bed ward is a critical part of services at Timaru Hospital caring for patients recovering from surgery.

Day to day this role assists and supports Registered and Enrolled Nurses with providing care and support to patients and works under their direction and delegation, in addition to other - housekeeping - tasks.

You - ll enjoy the flexibility of a truly varied role where there is never a dull moment or a day that looks like another!

Ideally you will have directly relevant work experience, or have worked for a recognised healthcare provider and therefore you are able to bring this experience to the role.  Other success factors for this role includes;

  • Display genuine sensitivity (and culturally empathy) toward others
  • maintaining unfailing confidentiality in all respects
  • Able to assist people with major health care needs and deliver safe quality care and client centred services.
  • Present a friendly positive approach to colleagues, patients & visitors alike
  • Utilise well developed communication skills to enhance patient experiences
