We have an exciting opportunity for a Safeguarding Adults from Abuse (SAFA) Coordinator. This newly created fixed term position is responsible for coordinating support for Adults at risk and people living with disabilities (and their whaanau) who are experiencing abuse, neglect or violence, in the Counties Manukau District.
The role will work as part of the cross-agency family harm/violence response team that currently exists within Counties Manukau (MDCAT – Multi-Disciplinary Cross-Agency Team), located at 19 Lambie Drive, Manukau.
As a newly formed position, this is an exciting opportunity to work with other Safeguarding Adults from Abuse (SAFA) Coordinators Regionally and Nationally to evolve, innovate and
develop consistent, best practice for identifying and working with situations where Adults at Risk, who are experiencing abuse and neglect, are identified as part of the family harm/violence response.

This position will:
- Coordinate and facilitate effective communication between Counties Manukau District health and disability services, other agencies and community supports to ensure that support meets the needs and aspirations of whaanau.
- Ensure that adults at risk and disabled people in Counties Manakau District receive safe and appropriate support for violence and abuse response and prevention, upholding people’s right to lead a good life free from abuse, violence and neglect.
- Provide professional development support to the wider cross-agency family harm response team in relation to identifying and supporting adults at risk and disabled people
To be successful in this role you will have to be a team player with excellent communication skills, you will bring an innovative approach to resolving issues and work well in an Interdisciplinary Team environment.

- New Zealand registered Social Worker
- A minimum of six years clinical experience as a social worker
- Full, NZ driver's licence
- Post graduate education or qualification in management
- Qualification in Professional Supervision
- Experience in management and in Quality Improvement
