The Community Oral Health Service (Te Whatu Ora Lakes) provides publically funded dental services to children aged from birth up until their 18th birthday.  Our service covers Rotorua, Taupo and Turangi.

Based in Rotorua and part of the Community Oral Health Team, you will support our dental staff by working alongside whānau to guide and support positive oral health outcomes for their tamariki. 

We are looking for a reliable, enthusiastic, and passionate kaimahi wanting to join us in our vision to strengthen and improve the wellbeing of tamariki and whānau within our local community in Rotorua.

Key Duties include:

• Provide cultural support and guidance for tamariki and their whānau who are receiving dental care services
• Support our dental team when following up whānau receiving oral health care services
• Promote and support oral health and ensure whānau and community are informed about the service and its importance to the health and wellbeing of Tamariki.
• Assist with access and referrals to relevant services.
• Build good relationships with whānau, hapu and iwi, community providers and dental providers

• Enjoy working with whānau and seeing results.
• Can motivate, educate, and empower whānau. 
• Know how to use Microsoft office programmes 
• Have proven experience working effectively within the community
• Is able to work well as part of an integrated team
