We are looking for a Registered Social Worker to join our team at Nelson Acute Allied Health team on a fixed term basis working 1.0 FTE for 12 months. Some weekend cover and public holiday cover will be required. This role has an acute in-patient focus and is based in the hospital; where bio-psychosocial assessments are required and interventions offered to support patients who face complex challenges. You will provide the social work support as part of a team of allied health and other health professionals.
The full-time equivalent salary for this role is $59,035 to
$85,992 (steps 1 - 8) of the current PSA Allied Public Health and Technical MECA,
dependent on skills, experience & registration in NZ.

You will be registered with the
NZ Social Workers Registration Board, and work in a collaborative way,
delivering client-centred practice from a strengths perspective. You will
ideally have experience working in a health setting and working as part of a multi-disciplinary
team, and bring an understanding of the social determinants of health, and the
impact on health and social needs.
You will have
knowledge/experience of physical health and disability and supports available
in the community. You will be well versed in family violence, vulnerable adults
and care and protection policies and expectations. We are looking for someone
with a good understanding of bi-cultural social work practice.
