We are seeking a Therapy assistant to join the Child and Adolescent Therapy Team. This is a permanent part time position working 40 hours per fortnight.
The Child and Adolescent Therapy Team are an MDT that work with children, young people and their families that are affected by disability, across the Taranaki region. The team are based at the Child and Adolescent Community Centre (CACC) but work around the mountain in ECE’s, schools, client homes and community spaces to provide care.
The role of the therapy assistant may include, but is not limited to, supporting care through the preparation and maintenance of environments at CACC, including the care of specialised toys and equipment, collection and delivery of equipment and mobility aids in the community direct therapy programmes with clients and documentation of care given (under the supervision of a therapist) and participation in MDT meetings and client groups as directed by the Therapists. Some administration duties may also be required to support service delivery.
Moū - About you
To be successful in this role you will have experience of or the desire to work with children, young people, and their families to make a difference to outcomes.
You will enjoy working as part of an MDT where everyone has a part to play in service provision.
Due to being a community-based service you will need to be able to travel across the Taranaki region
A good level of literacy and technical skills are essential and the ability to prioritise work and juggle competing demands is advantageous. You need to be a confident driver as collection and delivery of equipment is an important aspect of this role, some equipment is transported by van.
