Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
We are in a position to grow our team of SMOs from 8 to 10, so come and join our dynamic multidisciplinary Women's health Services who provide services to our local Hutt Valley communities.
As a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist you will be required to provide excellent services and supervise the care and management of acute and non-acute women allocated to you within a multidisciplinary team environment with an on call component.
You will be supporting and leading junior medical staff within the service and will be required to work collaboratively with team members to provide services in assessment, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up of patients referred.

The Women - s Health service provides quality and safe care as experienced by women, babies and their whānau of the Hutt Valley. We have a dedicated successful and enthusiastic team of 8 full and part-time Obstetricians and Gynaecologists who enable a collaborative multidisciplinary team approach to service provision, including voice of consumers at all level of service planning. We provide and participate in educational and service audit activities and reflect the values of the DHB including that of open disclosure.
Hutt Hospital is also a teaching hospital with medical students from the University of Otago rotating through the Women - s Health service. We supervise, and are accredited for Obstetrics and Gynaecology training through the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.

Moū - About you
- Vocationally registered in Obstetrics and gynaecology with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ)
- FRANZCOG or equivalent qualification and be able to register for with the MCNZ
- Preference will be given to candidates with minimum of 2 years - experience, but not essential
- Work effectively in collaboration with multidisciplinary team
- Able to provide consistently high standards of medical care
