Here at at Waitaha Canterbury and Te Tai o Poutini West Coast, we are passionate about promoting a culture of Speak Up and ensuring we support managers throughout the organisation to help facilitate this.
Are you an experienced HR generalist with a knack for driving change and facilitating Speak up programs? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! As an Advisory Project Specialist, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Speak Up program and ensuring our leaders are equipped to navigate complex HR and employment relations matters.
We are a supportive and hard-working team focused on solutions. Of course, we have fun along the way! Your work will create a real difference in the way we conduct business. We are a centralised team and work on a wide variety of HR matters for both the team at - Waitaha Canterbury and Te Tai o Poutini West Coast.

You will have an efficient, pragmatic and approachable style with the ability to build productive relationships with people at all levels. You know how to operate within a complex, fast paced and ever-changing environment and can use your expert communication and influencing skills to bring clarity and alignment. - You love a challenge, keep calm under pressure, have a curious mindset and can work collaboratively to balance shared deliverables and personal accountability. -
Qualifications and Capabilities:
To excel in this role, you should possess:
- Proven experience in delivering and facilitating complex Speak Up programs.
- A track record of coaching and mentoring people leaders to enhance overall capability in HR and employment relations practice.
- Strong advocacy for contemporary HR practices and employment relations at all levels within an organization.
- Detailed knowledge of current New Zealand employment law and HR practices, with the ability to apply this knowledge effectively in an organizational context
- Previous experience in a complex, fast-paced, unionized environment.
