• Salary range $118,390 - $143,639, location either central Wellington, Christchurch or Auckland
This is an exciting permanent opportunity for an experienced individual looking to join the Immigration NZ Insights team. You will become a key part of a small and supportive team within the Chief Operating Officer Immigration branch.
As a Principal Insights Business Analyst, you will support Immigration branches and the leadership team by providing in-depth and sound analysis to help inform decision making across the Immigration system.
The role will be varied and will be ideal for someone who is wishing to make a meaningful contribution to improving the performance of Immigration NZ across all products, processes and touchpoints.
• Chief Operating Officer Immigration branch is accountable for ensuring that Immigration New Zealand’s (INZ) operational activity is effectively prioritised, coordinated, clearly tasked, and aligned to INZ strategy.
• You will lead the thinking and analysis on a number of significant insights-related projects and will be able to guide your team members on the appropriate approach and methods needed to find out insights and recommendations.
• You will provide high quality insights on a range of topics across the whole Immigration eco-system.
• You will need to demonstrate advanced levels of knowledge on Immigration NZ’s purpose and policy, strategic direction and operational performance.
• You will need to demonstrate a structured and pragmatic approach to analysis, including working with stakeholders to interpret and validate results.

Skills and Experience Required
Have a tertiary qualification and comparable relevant experience (minimum 5 years’ Immigration work experience).
• Have advanced skills in strategic thinking, quantitative and qualitative analysis, conveying information both written and oral, stakeholder management and delivering projects to deadlines.
• Are experienced in drawing out and providing insights, information solutions and business information to internal and external customers/stakeholders.
• Are experienced in analysing business needs from all relevant perspectives and the ability to cater for these in your findings and recommendations.
• Can comfortably translate complex and technical information into information easily understood by all staff.
• Demonstrate initiative, sound judgement, accuracy and a sense of urgency when responding to requests.
• Are comfortable dealing with ambiguity and changing requirements.
