24/7 business and Canterbury Health Laboratories (CHL) is no exception! We - re
on the lookout for a NZ registered Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical
Laboratory Technician to join our Core Biochemistry Laboratory.
The Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Laboratory Technician is an
important member of our CHL team. We provide 24/7 service to the hospital and
the community which includes high volume automation as well as some manual
testing. Our primary focus is to provide the best service possible for
the care of the patient.
We have 2 part time opportunities working either 24 hours or hours p/w or 30 hours p/w for a NZ Registered Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Laboratory Technician! The following roles are available:
- Thursday - Saturday 08:00 - 16:30 & Sunday 08:00 - 14:30 (30 hours per week)
- Friday - Sunday 08:00 - 16:30 (24 hours per week)
The Role: Where you fit in
We are looking for qualified Medical Laboratory Scientists or Medical Laboratory Technicians with experience of working with automated platforms, standard operating procedures, quality assurance and quality control.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Performing analysis by utilising various analysers and stat instruments
- Carrying out troubleshooting of tests and equipment
- Providing a high-quality service to clients
- Carrying out techniques according to laboratory protocol
Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Registration with the New Zealand Medical Science Council (NZMSC) as a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Laboratory Technician with a current practicing certificate is essential
- Technical or scientific experience within a medical diagnostic laboratory
- Familiarity with middleware systems, automated track and analyser operation
- Quality assurance experience (method documentation and quality control procedures) as highly desirable
