The remuneration range for this role is $120,028 - $143,718 and is covered by the collective agreement: NZNO MECA (2 Aug 2020 – 31 Oct 2022)
Position Description | Nurse Practitioner Orthopaedics
Te Whatu Ora Tairāwhiti has an amazing opportunity in our Orthopaedic department for a Nurse Practitioner to join our team.
The role involves independent management of orthopaedic patients in the outpatient, inpatient and perioperative settings. There will be a specific focus on improving patient outcomes through optimisation of co-morbidities preoperatively and optimisation of non-operative management and modifiable risk factors impacting patient wellbeing.
There is an expectation of working in partnership with clinical teams in an interprofessional model of care.

Moū - About you
The ideal candidate will have:
- A minimum of 5 years recent clinical experience in orthopaedic speciality nursing with advanced learning and contemporary knowledge
- Post-grad Diploma in advanced nursing practice
- Skills in problem solving, priority setting, delegation and planning
- The ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and to quickly develop relevant networks
Te Whatu OraTairāwhiti is prepared to help the right applicant from clinical nurse specialist to nurse practitioner, through supporting their clinical, academic and registration pathway. Therefore, we are interested in applications from any experienced orthopaedic nurses with advanced practice skills and a postgraduate qualification.
