Te Rua Mahara o te Kāwanatanga, Archives New Zealand sits within the Te Haumi, Enterprise Partnership branch, the Department's epicentre of information management, culture and heritage. Our branch is all about collecting, storing and preserving important things that are precious to New Zealand. Archives New Zealand is committed to working effectively with Māori, and upholding mātauranga Māori.
The Auckland Regional Office cares for and provides equitable access to public records in the region through reading room, reference, digitisation and government loans services. We have a full time, permanent vacancy for an Archivist | Archives Advisor to join our team. In this role you will be supporting our team to deliver reference services in the reading room and via remote reference and research requests.
You will also contribute to the assembling, cataloguing, preservation and management of valuable holdings of historical information across an experienced and supportive team. As an Archivist you will be flexible to assist the team with a variety of tasks including retrieval of archival material, digitisation and assistance with archival arrangement and description.
