Our team manages and maintains the security and screening equipment that you see at airports in New Zealand. We play a vital role in airport and passenger safety and security by ensuring that equipment systems and process are functioning at a high level to safely transit passengers. We are responsible for the management of Aviation Security Service’s security equipment assets and their configuration layouts, both individually and as part of a security installation integrated with other equipment.
The primary responsibility of the Configuration Data Specialist revolves around capturing data for security equipment related to configuration control and fault reporting. The desired candidate should have experience in data capture, input, and analysis. Understand importance of maintaining and controlling the configuration control process including hardware, software, and firmware modifications. Hold a responsibility for ensuring the fault report system is current and assist in identifying prevailing and developing trends as they arise.
You will be joining a small and passionate team and will have the opportunity to work with advanced imaging technologies, and state-of-the-art x-ray and detection technologies. The role is key in supporting the Aviation Security function with technical advice to ensure they are providing an efficient security service for aviation in New Zealand.

You will enjoy variety in your work and be happy moving between head-office and airport environments supporting maintenance and logistics processes and systems. You will have:
- Experience in data capture and the use of Microsoft Office and reporting tools. Experience with asset or configuration management tools and methodologies is a plus.
- Good interpersonal skills, the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders in a confident manner.
- High motivation with the ability to work with minimal supervision and the flexibility to handle change and re-prioritize work.
- Ideally previous experience in a similar industry where asset management is crucial, such as manufacturing, utilities, telecommunications, military, or IT infrastructure.
- Positive can-do attitude.

The salary band for this position goes from $70,479 to $97,852 with the top-step being $86,121. Starting salaries will be based on knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role, and relativities both, within the immediate team and in the broader Authority for the same or similar roles.
