Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills

- NZ Registered Nurse with a current Annual Practising Certificate

- A minimum of 3 years nursing experience

- Commitment to actively support the pursuit of Māori health gain

- Postgraduate Certificate/Diploma or working towards

The Nurse Specialist Māori Health is an advanced nursing practice role with a focus on Māori health advocacy and leadership in a specific clinical setting. The role is underpinned by a commitment to work collaboratively to influence the achievement of positive healthcare experience and health outcomes for whānau Maori. In addition to the application of clinical skills and knowledge and participation in strategic work to address system barriers, the nurse specialist models the application of kaupapa Māori values in their own practice and supports the development of nurses and other healthcare workers to meet the holistic needs of whānau Māori.
