Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand, Te Matau a Māui, Hawke’s Bay is seeking New Graduate Midwives to join our team of professionals in providing excellent care to māmā and whanau. Te Matau a Māui, Hawke’s Bay encourages a maternity workforce that is culturally responsive to all whanau needs, and is innovative and passionate about our community. Te Matau a Māui, Hawke’s Bay's maternity facilities are unique in that, in addition to our main secondary care birthing facility we are the only region in New Zealand with a co-located Primary Birthing Unit.
Hawke's Bay Maternity is recognised nationally as providing innovative programs to improve maternal and infant health and wellbeing. As a New Graduate Midwife, Te Matau a Māui, Hawke’s Bay is now offering a comprehensive New Graduate Program Package to complement your Midwifery First Year of Practice (MFYP) and support your growth as a confident midwife.
Your New Graduate induction and program will be supported by the Educator, Clinical Coaches and Preceptors in addition to your MFYP Mentor throughout the year.
During your first year you will spend time in
Ata Rangi Labour and Birthing Suite
- Specialist Secondary Labour Cares, Assessments & Inductions
Ata Rangi Postnatal ward
- Secondary Postnatal Care and Breastfeeding Support
Waioha Primary Birthing Unit
- Primary Care Birthing Support & Primary Care Postnatal Support
Te Whatu Ora- Te Matau a Māui Community Midwifery Team and/or Wairoa Maternity Caseloading Midwifery Team Orientation
- Working in the Hawke's Bay community with antenatal and postnatal whanau;
- Antenatal clinics in the newly integrated family health centre
within the Wairoa Hospital - Working as a Caseloading Midwife within Wairoa Community and Rural Birthing and Postnatal Maternity Unit within Wairoa Hospital
Day Assessment Unit and Antenatal Clinic orientation
- Secondary care management of complicated pregnancies
