We are looking for an Occupational Therapist who is passionate about working with children and being part of a multi-disciplinary team. This is a specialised position within the team and the role includes a range of assessments, interventions, housing modifications and prescribing equipment. You will work collaboratively with other services such as Ministry of Education, Needs Assessment Services, Ti Piki Oranga, Plunket, Explore, Child and Adolescent Mental Health to name a few. The role will require you to be adaptable to change, resourceful and flexible to service needs.
The Child Development Service (CDS) team has a strong commitment to child protection and is dedicated to helping children achieve optimum function and wellbeing. We provide multi-disciplinary therapy for children with disabilities referred to the service, in partnership with their families/caregivers. This role spans community, primary, inpatient and outpatient settings.
It is highly desirable that you have post registration clinical experience in paediatrics.
The full-time equivalent salary for this position is $63,702 to $85,992 (Steps 2 to 8), based on the PSA Allied Public Health and Technical MECA, dependent on skills, experience, and registration in NZ.
Ko wai he kaitono tōtika? (Who is an appropriate applicant?)
You will be a NZ registered occupational therapist, with a current APC, and have Enable Assessor accreditation. Desirably you will come with experience in / or knowledge of housing modifications, equipment and wheelchair and seating.
You will have experience and a passion for working in paediatrics. You will also have excellent communication and rapport building skills with children and their whanau, whilst being a dedicated team player. You will be committed to adhering to best practice, delivering an excellent service and extending your own professional development.
