The details: Fixed Term Agreement - APRIL 24 to SEPT 24 - 20 to 40 Hours per week (0.50 to 1.0 FTE) - Rostered

Salary details: $170,369 - $250,560 pro rata

You will be covering sabbatical leave for 6 months in 2024 and we are happy to consider, fixed term or a locum agreement. Mō tātou Ratonga | About our Service

The Critical Care Department at Waikato Hospital is the tertiary provider for Intensive Care to the Midland region of New Zealand. The Waikato ICU is a state of the art, 16-bed facility providing all major tertiary services including a major trauma centre and the second largest cardiac surgical centre in New Zealand. We provide neurosurgical and regional burns care in addition to a busy general and paediatric intensive care, catering to the needs of 1500 ICU patients and almost 3000 HDU level patients each year. We operate a retrieval service by both air and road for critical care patients and a large contingency of cardiac patients.

We now prepare to expand Intensive Care and seek to further develop academic and research interests, in addition to further advance training of junior and senior medical staff. In accordance with the level of service provided, the unit is credentialed by the College of Critical Care Medicine at level C24. Learn more about our service here.

Required skills & experience you will need to be considered for this role:

• Hold current registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand in the scope of practice of Intensive Care Medicine, or equivalent, and must be of good standing. All overseas applicants are offered fill support in

• Both single and dual trained specialists are encouraged to apply. Those with subspecialty interests including cardiac, paediatric, research and academia will be supported

• Employment in this role will only be confirmed once the applicant has been successfully credentialed by the relevant committee of the Te Whatu Ora - Heath New Zealand, Waikato
