This is a great opportunity to join a fresh and dynamic team where no two days will be the same. We support our hospitals and health services across Wellington, Kapiti, and the Hutt Valley. The Health and Safety Advisor role is a highly visible one, working closely with our hospital directorates. You will be responsible for providing expert advice, working directly and collaboratively with all services including our Health, Safety and Wellbeing service.
Our work is diverse, covers complex scenarios and is multi layered, meaning different approaches are required. We are seeking an experienced professional who can provide guidance, governance and strategy to ensure best practice and compliance in the development of a focused safety culture. We are after someone who is motivated and able to effectively engage, gain support and influence in this space. The role itself is a generalist role with a very active interest in Hazardous Substances. The role requires someone able to work well in both areas to achieve compliance and an respond to generalist health and safety matters. The role requires someone who can engage clearly, deal with ambiguity, assist in meeting, monitoring and maintaining compliance requirements and promote best practice guidance across generalist health and safety functions.

Moū - About you
We are seeking a Health and Safety generalist with a good understanding of H&S practice, and very relevant knowledge of Hazardous substance regulations for New Zealand, the ability to apply this knowledge effectively to maintain compliance with regulations applicable to our environment will define the ideal candidate. Previous experience in an H&S Advisor role within New Zealand is critical - further you will be adept at applying H&S methodologies including risk management in support of complex, high-risk working environments with a strong people focus. Understanding how to get the right message across in the right way is the key to success here. We will be looking for an ability to be clear, informative and knowledgeable in the areas specified.
