The details: Permanent Full time - 50 hours per week - Rostered
Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
We are looking for enthusiastic individuals with a commitment to a team-based approach in anaesthesia and surgery.
Responsibilities of the role:
Contribute actively and positively towards excellence in teamwork, clinical care, teaching and research
Provide comprehensive anaesthesia services, including acute pain and perioperative services to elective and emergency patients within both Waikato and Thames Hospitals
Participate in an on-call and after-hours roster
Model a high degree of professionalism in their day-to-day work
For those with interest there is also opportunity to join the chronic pain management team. This would be by agreement and is not a prerequisite of the role.

Mōu | About you
Required skills & experience you will need to be considered for this role:
Eligible for Vocational Registration as a Specialist Anesthetist with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anesthetists (preferred) or equivalent. Applications will be considered from candidates who are expecting to be awarded their fellowship in the near future.
Demonstrate recent clinical experience in Anesthesia comparable to contemporary Australasian practice.
Competence in providing Anaesthetic services for healthy children > 24 months.
Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Demonstrate an ability to work effectively and constructively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership of a team.
Demonstrate a commitment to teaching, continuing education, research, and quality improvement.
Any successful applicant will not be eligible to commence their appointment until any relevant qualifications and requirements are formally completed.
