Senior Clinical Pharmacist – Te Whatu Ora Lakes

Are you an enthusiastic and motivated clinical pharmacist with a passion for intensive care? Te Whatu Ora Lakes (Rotorua Hospital) is seeking a Senior Clinical Pharmacist who will hold responsibilities to provide comprehensive, safe and effective clinical care to our 13 bedded ICU/CCU ward and contribute as part of a team to the overall clinical and operational duties of the Pharmacy department.

Role and Responsibilities:
As a Senior Clinical Pharmacist at Rotorua Hospital, you will work closely with the ICU and HDU teams, providing clinical guidance, medication expertise, and contributing to the overall patient care. Your presence will be highly appreciated, as the pharmacy department is well respected by other hospital services. You will also play a vital role in supporting and educating our clinical pharmacy team. You will also have variety in your day by providing clinical services to other areas as required as well as contributing to a manageable dispensary rostered session.

Key Qualifications and Desirable Experience:
- Experience: A minimum of 3 years of clinical pharmacy experience in a hospital setting
- Qualifications: You must be a New Zealand registered pharmacist. A post-graduate qualification in clinical pharmacy or a relevant postgraduate qualification is highly desirable.
- ICU/HDU Experience: Previous experience in the Intensive Care Unit or High Dependency Unit is desirable, but we also welcome candidates with a passion for developing the necessary skills and knowledge
- Skills: We are seeking individuals with excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, a strong willingness to learn, adaptability, and resilience.
- Motivation: The ideal candidate should be highly motivated, energetic, and have the ability to inspire and collaborate with colleagues.
- Oncall Roster: Participation in the on-call roster will be required (approximately every 4 to 6 weeks).

- Good Communication: Effective communication is crucial in this role. You will need to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
