Are you an experienced Allied Health Clinician with a burning passion for advancing Māori health equity? We want to hear from you! Your skills and expertise could make a real difference in improving health outcomes for Māori whānau. Join our groundbreaking NEW cultural multidisciplinary team of clinicians (Ringa Atawhai), who will be dedicated to supporting mokopuna and whānau who are admitted to Paediatric Intensive Care (PICU) at Starship. You will be able to work together as a team to assist whānau with a wraparound service that ensures they have the best possible experience and outcomes. As part of this dynamic team, you will also play a pivotal role in expanding the capacity and capability of our PICU workforce. There will be opportunities for formal and informal teaching and education alongside supporting the team with cultural leadership and expertise. |
Permanent role, FTE negotiable
· Predominantly a Monday to Friday role with a need to be flexible to meet mokopuna and whānau needs
· Based at Starship Hospital, Grafton, Auckland
· This role reports to both TamaAriki Ora (Starship Māori Health) and Allied Health Service Clinical Director
Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
The day-to-day mahi is a dynamic mix of working with mokopuna and whānau, raising the capability and capacity of PICU staff, and escalating systemic inequities.
Working amongst a team of dedicated Māori clinicians and Tangata Tiriti clinicians there will be opportunities for leadership and professional development. As part of Ringa Atawhai, you will become part of TamaAriki Ora (Starship Māori Health) and will enjoy the added benefits of whanaungatanga, training and being part of a movement to protect the integrity of whakapapa and uphold the divinity of our mokopuna. In addition to the Maori Allied Health Professional role, candidates with prior leadership experience may also be considered for the Ringa Atawhai Team Leader role.
