Salary: $110-117,907 NZNO Meca - pro rata for part time
Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
The Nurse Educator plays a crucial role in facilitating training and education to enhance the competence and capability of the nursing workforce within the Acute Medical Ward. This position is vital for ensuring and maintaining essential nursing knowledge and standards of safe, quality care.
Mō tō mātou rōpū - About our team
The Hutt Valley Nurse Educator team consist of seventeen Nurse Educators who work throughout the hospital to provide education to our nursing workforce. They report to the Charge Nurse Manager Education and work closely with the Workforce and Practice Development Unit (W&PDU) to lead a culture of education and professional development to enhance the workforce capability to provide high quality and safe services.
Moū - About you
Relevant clinical experience in education is highly desirable but not essential for this role. The position would suit a self-motivated, organised person who is passionate about education and development of the nursing workforce. The preferred candidate will need to have:
- Nursing Council of New Zealand Registration and current APC
- A Current PDRP
- A minimum three years post graduate nursing experience with expertise in medical or critical care nursing
- Experience in coaching and teaching and the proven ability to engage people at all levels
- A commitment to applying principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and achieving equitable outcomes for Māori
- A post graduate qualification in nursing and prepared to work towards a Masters in Nursing
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft office software
