We have a permanent, full-time opportunity for a Senior Pharmacist within the General Medicine and Medical Specialties service available.

In this position you will be integral to the development and delivery of a high level, comprehensive and professional clinical pharmacy service to a variety of General Medicine and Medical Speciality wards in partnership with the multidisciplinary team.

You will work alongside clinical leaders to help to drive and influence strategies to best optimise the clinical pharmacy service.
The opportunity for professional development here is impressive to say the least. Not only will you mentor and coach rotational pharmacists in the service, you’ll also support teaching at the University of Auckland. We’re sure you’ll also relish the chance to get involved in the development of protocols, prescriptions and guidelines, and education and training of pharmacists and the wider multidisciplinary team in order to facilitate good prescribing practice.
Our Pharmacy department is an innovative and exciting place to work. We employ over 100 staff including those working within two retail pharmacies and our flagship inpatient service. We serve over 1200 inpatient beds. Our guiding principle is to put the patient first in everything we do. Our award winning and growing clinical pharmacy service has over 40 pharmacists working across both secondary and tertiary level services.
We have a robust service strategy which ensures that our staff are continuingly driving to work at the top of their scope and pushing the boundaries of clinical pharmacy practice. Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills
An enthusiastic clinical pharmacist, committed to furthering yourself and your peers with the ability to role model the Te Toka Tumai values, you will come to us with at least three to five years relevant clinical pharmacy experience and a post-graduate qualification in clinical pharmacy is desirable. You will demonstrate the ability to work through complex clinical situations in a collaborative team, whilst showing drive, enthusiasm and innovation. Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential. The successful applicant should have the ability to be flexible, work well in a team and live the values of Te Toka Tumai. You’ll be either registered or be eligible for registration with the Pharmacy Council of New Zealand and hold a current Annual Practising Certificate.
