Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
Our Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) team is currently looking for a skilled Psychologist, passionate to make a difference in the lives of children and young people experiencing mental health and behavioural difficulties. This role is vital to the mental health of our children and young people across Taranaki as you will be supporting them through their journey along with their whanau. This role will be working within the community and within our integrated model of care. There will be opportunities and support for professional development and ongoing role development. The team works with children and young people 0-18 years of age and has close links with other child health staff including Paediatricians, inpatient facility staff and Non-Government Organisations.
The role has the following responsibilities:
· Undertake assessments, formulations and goal planning with children, young people and their whanau
· Provides client-centred care, utilising evidence-based therapies and strategies
· Coordinate care at the right time with input from the wider team and external providers
· Providing Psychology consultancy and support to the wider team

Moū - About you
We are looking for:
· Permanent full-time Clinical Psychologist with current Practicing Certificate based in New Plymouth with travel to South Taranaki required.
· Passion for Mental Health & Addictions, exceptional interpersonal & communication skills.
· Experience and confidence undertaking neuropsychological assessments and interpretation.
· Experience within specialist Child & Adolescent Mental Health preferred
· Excellent assessment, communication & relationship building skills
· Flexibility to work autonomously as well as part of a multi-disciplinary team
· Understanding and application of the principles of the treaty of Waitangi, with a culturally safe and appropriate approach to practice
