Right now, there
is an opportunity for a qualified Social Worker to join our specialist team and
provide support services to people entering their cancer journey.
will be on the pathway from a suspected cancer diagnosis undergoing
investigation, through to starting treatment for a confirmed cancer. The role crosses health services, with a focus
on supporting people and their family/whanau who face challenges that might
jeopardise access to investigations, treatment, or adjustment to diagnosis.
candidate will be able to focus on assessment of needs such as situational,
socio-emotional and cultural along with delivery of requisite support. Additionally,
liaison with a range of parties and sound record keeping is essential to ensure
both continuity of care and management of risk.
We welcome applications from candidates with the following;
- Full registration with the New Zealand Social Workers Registration board and a current practising certificate
- ANZASW membership and participation in monthly clinical supervision
- Experience managing complex needs of patients and whanau
- Aptitude to make autonomous decisions within scope of practice
- Excellent oral and written
