  • Whangarei, Northland, New Zealand
  • Permanent part-time position (0.2FTE)

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is firmly grounded in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and is committed to building a health system that serves all New Zealanders.

About the Role

This is a clinical leadership role operating across the continuing care continuum within the adult mental health services for Whangarei and Kaipara.

Working in partnership with the Service Manager, the Clinical Head of Department will provide leadership across General Adult Community, Te Roopu Whitiora, Intensive Care Team, Dual Disability and Kaipara Community Team.

Offering an opportunity to shape and lead the service, at an exciting time of development and innovation, this role will work closely with the General Manager and Clinical Director to provide professional leadership with the aim of providing a high-quality service to meet the community, service and organisational objectives.

The successful candidate will be one who is looking to make a contribution to improving outcomes for people accessing mental health care - in particular for Maori, with a focus on addressing inequity. As a member of the clinical governance forum, it is important to have an interest in quality improvement, service development co-design and outcome measures.

In return we can offer you the opportunity to work in a service that has a robust clinical governance structure in place, high standards of care, a supportive team environment and an ability to contribute to improving services. We will support the person in this role to access leadership development opportunities.

It is anticipated that this role will be 0.2FTE as an annex to a substantive clinical position within one of the teams in the service.
