The purpose of the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) group is to work in partnership with the rest of the organisation to provide digital technology and communication solutions that support excellence in policing and service delivery and enable Police’s strategic ambitions.
With a primary hub in Wellington, and a presence throughout the country, we deliver new and enhanced solutions directly and through specialist vendor partnerships. We provide expert advice on how technology can be leveraged to support Police’s strategies and turn concepts into reality through collaborative development.
The Product Management Specialist – Product & Agile Delivery is a member of the wider ICT Centres of Expertise Group - ICT Product and Agile Delivery. The ICT Product and Agile Delivery Practice provides support for the implementation and ongoing development of product management tools, skills and methodologies that align with the ICT Operating Model.
The Product Management Specialist is responsible for supporting the implementation and ongoing development of product management tools, skills and methodologies that align with the ICT Operating Model. The role works cross-functionally with ICT product teams to support the development of strategy including defining the product visions and roadmaps and the formation and leadership of effective product teams. They are a subject matter expert in the establishment and successful operation of the product management delivery model.
The role will identify opportunities and gaps in the implementation of the product management model. The role will be responsible for the design and implementation initiatives to successfully embed and improve the product management model within ICT.
This role requires someone to operate as a consultant, trusted advisor and mentor with strong interpersonal skills and product management expertise.
- Provide support and guidance to Product Teams to enable them to implement consistent practices aligned with the Product Model.
- Represent the model to wider ICT and Police to achieve engagement and uptake
- Ensure that the Product and Agile Delivery Practice continues to evolve to follow industry best practice.

- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated experience in mentoring and coaching.

Utu ā-tau | Salary
This position is covered by a collective agreement and salary will commence between $137,954 and $153,283 dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.
