This is an exciting opportunity to apply for the position of O&G Registrar for next year commencing in August 2025. The O&G Department offer supportive working conditions and are committed to excellent teaching.
About us:
Hawke’s Bay Hospital is a 364 bed hospital providing acute and elective care for the Hawke's Bay region. We have most major medical and surgical subspecialties on site (except cardiothoracic and neurosurgery), as well as paediatrics and O&G. We are well supported by a strong regional ICU team. We have strengthening Primary and Community health services and an increasingly integrated approach to health and health care.
About our team:
Working within a team of 8 Registrars, you will have the full support of 8 Specialist Consultants and work closely with 8 House Officers. While enjoying a wide variety of inpatient cases, you will also be expected to attend Women’s Outpatients and work in the Surgical Ward, Operating Theatre, Acute Admissions Unit, Emergency Department, Early Pregnancy Clinic. There may also be some need to attend outpatient clinics in peripheral units within Hawke’s Bay.
About you:
Our ideal candidate will have:
- Suitable for Resident Medical Officers who will be PGY3 or above and have completed at least a six month placement at Registrar level within an Obstetric and Gynaecology service.
- Applicants must be registered, or eligible for registration, with the Medical Council of New Zealand
