Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
We are currently looking for a dedicated and experienced Staff Nurse to join our vibrant team at Haumaru Ōrite.
Haumaru Ōrite is a supra-regional acute psychiatric child and adolescent mental health inpatient unit hosted by Te Toka Tumai. It is located on level one of Starship Children's Hospital.
Within the same facility Haumaru Ōrite also houses a specialist Māmā and pēpi maternal mental health inpatient unit to people living in Waitemata, Auckland, Counties Manukau and Northland.
You would be a member of a cohesive and social nursing team supported by a multidisciplinary team of doctors, occupational therapists, cultural advisors, social workers, psychologists and mental health assistants.

Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills
We are seeking a NZ registered Nurse with a post graduate certificate in mental health nursing or equivalent (NESP program). We would ideally like applicants who have at least two years post graduate mental health experience. Experience in Child and Adolescent Mental Health, and/or Maternal Mental Health is preferred, however is not essential.
It is a minimum requirement to understand Te Tiriti o Waitangi and the importance of providing culturally safe care to our rangatahi, Māmā and pēpi . You will be committed to achieving equitable outcomes for Māori.
You will have sound understanding of local policy, procedures and clinical practice in relation to the elimination of restrictive practices and understand person-centred and whanau centred health care.
