Ko tā mātou mahi - Our Role
We are currently recruiting for an Occupational Health Lead based in either our Wellington or Auckland National offices. In this role you will be responsible for developing and implementing workplace initiatives that mitigate and reduce work-related health (physical and psychological) risks to Kāinga Ora employees. You will help ensure our business delivery aligns with legislative compliance and medical advice by translating this for a workplace context. This role provides advice and develops guidance for People Leaders, People Partners and the wider business so they have a kete (basket) of resources to manage and prevent injury and illness for our people. This includes case management, Return to Work plans, and linking people with appropriate support.
The Occupational Health Lead is involved with a range of activities across the business to contribute to our culture of health and wellbeing, with a focus on equity and prevention. Part of this is providing subject matter expertise to projects, education, policy review and supporting the implementation of the Safety and Workplace Services work programme.
Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu - What you will bring
- Registered Nursing, Occupational Therapy or similar health practitioner qualification
- Case management experience, particularly in mental health
- Experience working in large complex organisations with customer facing employees
- An ability to translate occupational health legislation and medical advice to workplace settings
- Experience in 'return to work' situations and ACC knowledge would be great
- Adapting the workspace to enable our teams to be comfortable and reduce risk of injury due to work
- Sound negotiation and diplomacy skills
