Mō tenei tūrana mahi | About this role
The Enterprise Risk team are on a journey to lift risk maturity and have developed a three-year strategic roadmap to make a step change in ACC's risk performance. Working across the business, you will support the development of ACC's risk frameworks, tools and guidance to lift risk management capability and promote a risk-aware culture. Reporting to the Manager Enterprise Risk, you will act as a trusted advisor, providing expert advice and thought leadership to Deputy Chief Executives (DCEs), Enterprise Leaders and business groups to help manage risk and improve the quality of risk information used in decision-making.
What you'll do:
- Trusted advisor: Provide expert advice and thought leadership to DCEs, Enterprise Leaders and business groups that is timely and pragmatic.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with 1st line teams, 2nd line specialist functions and Internal Assurance to embed risk management practices.
- Risk Reporting: Support quarterly risk reporting to the Executive and Board, including facilitating risk reviews with DCE risk owners and functional risk leads.
- Evidence-based insights: Provide evidence-based insights into risks, controls and treatments, including analysis of risk trends and themes, and lessons learned to support high quality 2nd line oversight, challenge, reporting and advice.
- Continuous improvement: Continuously improve risk frameworks, policies, systems and processes and their application across ACC.
Ko wai koe | About you
We're looking for:
- Extensive risk management experience: You will have five or more years' experience working in a risk, compliance, assurance or internal audit related function.
- Knowledge of risk management best practices: Sound knowledge of, and practical experience in, best practice risk frameworks, systems and processes.
- Trusted relationships: Proven ability to develop trust and credibility with senior leaders and staff and build strong working relationships for mutual benefit.
- Emotional intelligence: Demonstrated through sound judgement, even temperament and the ability to influence and motivate others.
- Adaptability: Ability to adapt quickly to new information or areas of work and manage time effectively.
- Exceptional communication skills: Both written and verbal.
- Data analysis / Power BI: Experience in data analysis / Power BI would be advantageous.

The base salary range for this role is $117,787 - $166,288 with appointment depending on skills and experience and internal relativities. ACC also offers 9% superannuation.
