Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
The Associate Charge Nurse Manager role at Te Whare o Matairangi involves both day to day management of the ward and the implementation of quality improvements initiatives. ACNMs provide clinical leadership and support change implementation across weekend and afternoon shifts.
Mō tō mātou rōpū - About our team
Te Whare O Matairangi provides acute and intensive inpatient services for people experiencing severe mental distress, too unwell to be cared for at home and who require intensive care, treatment and support. The focus for treatment at the unit is on recovery and returning people to their home, usually within 2-3 weeks, with community support if required. We aim to provide the best possible clinical care in a respectful, supportive, safe and caring environment.
TWOM has a team of highly skilled psychiatrists, nurses and allied health staff providing assessment, diagnosis and treatment for adults with serious mental illness and severe psychological disorders. They work in collaboration with the service user, their whanau and the community clinical teams to promote recovery.
Moū - About you
All nurses employed by Health New Zealand Te Whatu Ora will have Registration with the New Zealand Nursing Council and maintain a current annual practising certificate as a Registered Nurse. Application onto the Health New Zealand , Te Whatu ora Professional Development and Recognition Programme (PDRP) at expert (if applicable) or senior level is required.
Our ideal candidate will have experience in clinical coordination, nursing leadership and role-modeling, and a dedication to quality improvement. You will be someone that is able to use your experience to lead and support a team of nurses and Mental Health Support Workers in a busy ward environment, being responsible for clinical decision making outside of business hours. You will also bring specialty knowledge in order to inform and implement service improvements and projects. An ACNM will demonstrate dedication for pushing team and professional development to ever higher levels of safe and competent practice.
