Renal & General Medicine Consultant

Waitematā District is looking for a motivated and skilled dual trained Renal and General Medicine Senior Medical Officer (SMO) to join our progressive and positive team. We provide Nephrology care including dialysis and interventional procedures to a large and culturally diverse population of over 630,000 people in Auckland, New Zealand.

Our dedicated, supportive team work across two hospitals in the North and West of Auckland in collaboration with other departments to provide a high quality, innovative service. 

The Waitematā Renal Service is in an exciting phase of further development. We are looking for talented physicians who are keen to expand their experience working with a passionate multidisciplinary team. We also work closely with other Renal services across Metro Auckland.

You will contribute to the largest General Medicine service in New Zealand working alongside collaborative and helpful colleagues to provide coordinated and specialised acute medicine and ward based care with a 1:6 after hours roster.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified dual trained Renal Physicians. Applicants must have or be eligible to obtain vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand. Salary and conditions of employment will be in accordance with the New Zealand Association of Salaried Medical Specialists’ collective agreement. Recently trained or experienced candidates are welcome.
