Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
As the Alcohol and Other Drugs Clinician your primary purpose is to:
- Provide brief AOD assessments to clients in the Court setting.
- Provide the Judge with a summary of the findings along with appropriate recommendations
- Liaise with other AOD services for the purpose of referrals when required.
Mō tō mātou rōpū - About our team
The regional arm of Te Korowai-Whāriki includes the Central Regional Forensic Mental Health Service which operates at the interface between Mental Health Services and the Justice System and works within the following settings - prisons, courts, community, and inpatient. The Service offers assessment and rehabilitation services to defendants charges with criminal offences and offenders who have psychiatric illness.
Moū - About you
We are seeking a motivated, resourceful and enthusiastic registered health professional to join the Regional Forensic Youth service who is interested in and committed to improving the health and well-being of those affected by alcohol and other drug use. Participation into service development and also essential.
Applicants must have:
- a recognised health professional qualification and registration, e.g. Social Worker, Nurse, Occupational Therapist or Counselling.
- Or Registered member of DAPAANZ (Drug and Alcohol Practitioners Association of Aotearoa NZ)
- Experience in alcohol and drug counselling in a health setting
- Current driver - s license
