He kōrero mō mātou | About Us
The Forensic Community Reintegration Service (FCRS) is part of the Regional Forensic Psychiatric Service, and is responsible for providing transitional and follow up support to people who are moving or have moved on from one of the Mason Clinic to the community. In addition to this, the service follows up, and provides clinical care for, service users who reside in accommodation run by four non-government organisations (NGO) including Kaupapa Maori and Pasifika providers.
This accommodation is located throughout Auckland
Our team including our NGO partners all have a common goal - helping people realise their potential with the aim of supporting service users to live their best life as independently as possible.
The Role
Our service currently operates Monday through to Friday, with weekend on call and provides intensive rehabilitation services to clients with a mix of Forensic Mental Health diagnoses, alcohol/drugs addictions and physical health issues.
The clients of this service are encouraged to lead their own recovery by identifying opportunities to be involved with and to contribute to the community, to work towards building community support networks, including their family/whānau and other significant people.
All clients are supported to achieve the maximum level of independence and to lead the life they want to lead. We work to foster hope, identify strengths and develop resilience. We recognise that these are key components to the approach taken to support clients and their family/whānau with their recovery.
About You
- National Mental Health Certificate Level 4/5 or higher level of mental health support work (or equivalent) is preferred
- Previous experience in Forensic Mental Health Services
- Demonstrated commitment to recovery values
- Advanced communication and interpersonal skills
- Must have a clean and current full New Zealand driver license
- Demonstrated commitment to the Treaty of Waitangi and culturally safe practice
- Applicants must be eligible to work in New Zealand
