About the Role
The Psychologist for Infant Child and Adolescent, provides specialist
psychological assessment and treatment for children and young people with
moderate to severe mental health difficulties, on an individual basis, ensuring
involvement of their primary caregiver where appropriate, in conjunction with
the multi-disciplinary team. The role is
integral to assist the management team to support the ongoing maintenance and
development of the Strengths Model Recovery Approach within the Mental Health
and Addiction Service
About the Team/Service/ Location
This position is based in the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Team which is part of the hospital campus on High Street. There are a small team of part-time psychologist who provide assessment and therapy to children and youth. There is a very strong multi -disciplinary approach within the team that enables holistic care and support. There are also strong links with Schools, Non-Government Organisations and Community services.
About you
The successful applicant will be experienced with
assessments, including psychometric and neuropsychological and be able to develop
clinical formulations and provide advice on effective interventions. They would also need to establish methods for
evaluating the efficacy of treatments. Additionally
- Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
- Experience in projects /
initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the
application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as
they apply in healthcare settings.
This role is
open to a registered New Zealand Clinical Psychologist who holds a current APC.

Salary Range
This role is covered by the terms and conditions of a Collective Agreement and the salary will be in accordance with the Pay Scale, and dependent on relevant experience.
