About the Role
Te Whatu Ora Tairāwhiti (Gisborne) are looking for Orthopaedic Registrars to join them in full time positions throughout the January 2025 to January 2026 Registrar year. This run is accredited for Rural Hospital Medicine Training Program through the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners.

About the Team/Service/ Location
There will be daily opportunities for learning, as the Registrars will work closely with direct daily supervision with their assigned Orthopaedic Surgeon Consultant/Senior Medical Officer on day shifts, which includes Operating Theatre, Fracture Clinic, Inpatient Ward and Outpatient settings.
About you
· Ideal applicants should have at least 2 Years postgraduate experience and have completed at least a total of six month placement working in an Orthopaedic Department at least at Senior House Officer level.
· Suitable for Resident Medical Officers who will be PGY3+ or above.
· You will have eligibility for general or provisional general registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand. Information on the process of application for this can be found on their website here.
· You will need to be a NZ or Australian citizen or resident, or have an appropriate visa to be eligible to live and work in NZ. For more information on visa requirements please visit the Immigration NZ website.
· Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth.
· Experience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.
