About the Role
Would you like to work as part of a diverse residential addiction service delivering high quality innovative services at Springhill Residential Addiction Centre?
We are looking for a Recovery Support Workers to work in a residential setting as part of the integrated mental health and addiction service. Shifts are varied and include evenings and weekends.
About the Team/Service/ Location
If you enjoy working in a small dynamic team and understand recovery from an addiction’s perspective, then we are interested in you. This service is focused on facilitating resilience and recovery from the impacts of addiction
About you
Ideally you will have a National Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Level 4) or working towards, Mental Health & Addiction Support or other graduate qualification within mental health and addictions sector. A variety of life skills and therapeutic knowledge is essential to effectively work alongside people and their whanau to sustain and achieve recovery.
You will also need the following key attributes and skills
- Expereince or knowledge with Addiction and or Mental Health in a residential or community setting
- Clean current New Zealand Full drivers licence
- Willingness and ability to work independently and take initiative within the scope of assigned work and areas of responsibility.
- Demonstrated ability to perform professionally and efficiently under pressure and a capacity to work with complex situations and problems.
- Ability to work with complex and competing demands
- Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
- Experience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.
