About the Role

The role provides specialist psychological assessment and treatment to individuals in conjunction with the multi-disciplinary team.   The role is integral to assist the management team to support the ongoing maintenance and development of the Strengths Model Recovery Approach within the Mental Health and Addiction Service

About the Team/Service/ Location

This position is split between the Adult Community Mental Health and Addiction service and the Child Adolescent Service located on the Timaru Hospital campus on Queen Street, Timaru.

About you

The successful applicant will be experienced with assessments, including psychometric and neuropsychological and be able to develop clinical formulations and provide advice on effective interventions.  They would also need to establish methods for evaluating the efficacy of treatments. Additionally,

  • Registered with the Psychology Borad of New Zealand and relevant APC
  • Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
  • Experience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.

Salary Range

This role is covered by the terms and conditions of the APEX Collective and will be in accordance with the pay scale, and dependent on relevant experience.
