Te Whiwhinga Mahi: Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Occupational Therapist for a leadership role on the older adult Assessment, Treatment and Rehabilitation ward at North Shore Hospital.
As a senior practitioner you will be part of our senior team, providing rehabilitation clinical excellence, leadership and support to the inpatient Occupational Therapists and wider Allied Health team in close liaison with the Clinical Coach, Rehabilitation Advanced Clinician, Occupational Therapy Clinical Leader, Team Manager and Professional Clinical Leader for Occupational Therapy.
You will be passionate about providing best practice assessment and rehabilitation through a patient centred approach to older adults with orthopaedic, general medical, stroke and neurological conditions.
Nga Pukenga Motuhake: Important Skills
• A passion for rehabilitation.
• At least 5 years’ experience as an Occupational Therapist.
• Have strong clinical assessment and treatment skills with diverse occupational therapy knowledge.
• Experience working in an inpatient hospital environment, preferably within a rehabilitation setting.
• Experience in stroke assessment and intervention is preferred
• Experience assessing and providing wheelchair and seating solutions, providing upper limb assessment/treatment and assessing how cognitive impairments impact on occupational performance.
• Flexibility and willingness to work across different wards to meet service needs.
• A good team player with excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
• Organised and demonstrate strong time management abilities.
• Be able to work positively and proactively to optimise patient and team experience.
• Desire to upskill self and others, preferably experience supervising staff and/or students.
• Preferably will have project or quality improvement experience.
