About the Role
Health NZ Te Whatu Ora, Te Tai o Poutini West Coast is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Associate Clinical Nurse Manager (ACNM) - Acute Zone to join our team. This role is essential in supporting excellence in rural clinical outcomes and aligns with our vision and values.
As an ACNM, you will work alongside the Clinical Nurse Manager (CNM) to provide both operational and clinical nursing leadership. You will empower staff to deliver high-quality, integrated care that is sustainable and equitable.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Management: Support the CNM in workforce planning, performance management, and ensuring a positive work environment.
- Clinical Leadership: Promote evidence-based, culturally competent, and timely care to achieve equitable health outcomes.
- Workforce Development: Contribute to recruitment, retention, and succession planning, while fostering a sustainable and diverse workforce.
- Service Improvement: Drive sustainable service changes aligned with national and local strategies.
- Change Management: Coach and support the healthcare team in adapting to evolving clinical environments.
- Resource and Financial Management: Work with CNM and finance teams to optimize financial performance and ensure efficient resource utilization.
Skills and Experience Required
Essential:
- Registered Nurse with a current Annual Practising Certificate (NZ)
- Relevant postgraduate qualification (minimum Postgraduate Certificate or working towards one)
- Minimum 3 years - post-registration experience
- Cultural competency training (completed or committed to undertaking)
- Full NZ driver - s license (including ability to drive a manual transmission)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work with children
- Completion or progress toward Australasian Triage course
Desirable:
- Experience in a senior nursing position
- Current Professional Development and Recognition Programme (PDRP) portfolio
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act (2003) and the Treaty of Waitangi in healthcare
- Strong assessment, communication, and leadership skills
- Emotional intelligence and ability to build effective relationships
- Passion for professional development and service improvement
- Ability to work autonomously and within a team, managing competing priorities effectively
