Location: Kenepuru Dialysis Unit, Kenepuru Hospital campus
Service: Renal Service
Contract: Part time position working 49 hours/fortnight (7 x 7 hour shifts), on a rostered and rotating basis.
Monday - Sunday. AM shift 0700-1430 hours and pm shift 1400-2130 hours. Must be able to work any shift, any day of the week.
Salary: NZNO MECA HCA Steps 1-5. Salary range $60,100 - $70,358 pro rata
Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
This is an essential role in facilitating the smooth running of activities in the Kenepuru Dialysis Unit.
This position ensures daily unit activities to support patient care are met, including setting up dialysis machines, preparing supplies for patient treatment, restocking, cleaning equipment, and general support to the Dialysis Unit nursing team to meet service needs. There is an identified task list.
Position available for a Health Care Assistant to cover 7 shifts a fortnight working Monday - Sunday on a rostered and rotating basis. Shift times are 0700 -1430 hours and 1400 - 2130 hours. Applicants must be able to work any day of the week. There is no set shift pattern.

As a health care assistant you will work alongside the registered nurses who all work across our 3 dialysis units, so you will enjoy working with different team members each shift.
Team members are well supported by senior nurses within the renal service.

You will be someone who enjoys working in a team committed to providing a safe and positive environment for patients receiving treatment. You will be someone who is comfortable working in a healthcare setting, and who wants to make a difference. You will be able to demonstrate the following
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Effective time management skills
- Positive work attitude
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable
- Ability to work under direction but also carry out tasks independently
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Basic computer literacy
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting beneficial
- Level 3 NZQA qualification or working towards
