We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Health Care Associate to join our Acute Assessment Unit at Hawkes Bay Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity to support a dynamic team in providing high-quality patient care within a fast-paced and evolving healthcare environment. About the Team/Service/Location:
The Acute Assessment Unit plays a critical role in delivering timely and effective care to patients requiring urgent medical attention. We work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the best outcomes for our patients. Located in the beautiful Hawkes Bay, you will be part of a hospital that serves a vibrant and diverse community, offering a supportive work environment and professional development opportunities.
About You:
- Previous experience in a healthcare support role or similar setting.
- Passion for providing excellent patient care and supporting clinical staff.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- A commitment to teamwork and a patient-centred approach.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
- Basic computer literacy and familiarity with healthcare systems (preferred but not essential).
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
- Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth.
- Experience in projects/initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly in healthcare settings.
