About the Role
Key responsibilities of the role:
- Complete the training programme in 12 – 14 months
- Be open to learning new skills as well as be a self-directed learner
- Be responsible for assisting in and delivery and evaluation of safe and appropriate centred care within the delivery of anaesthesia to a patient
- Provide a professional manner, skilled, clinical and technical assistance to the anaesthetist
- Work part of the theatre team in providing maximum quality care to patients undergoing anaesthesia.
The salary for this position will be based on experience and in line with the PSA Allied, Public Health, Scientific and Technical Collective agreement. Additional benefits include kiwisaver contributions (if eligible), shift allowances, professional development and wellness support.

About the Team/Service
We are a supportive team that encourages you to have a balance between being here with us and doing the other stuff you love. You will be supported on the floor as you undertake your training with us and will have access to knowledgeable staff and clinical leadership as you transition through your training.
About you
Skills and experience you’ll need to be considered for the role (those who do not meet the criteria below will not be considered):
- Be able to work full time, rotating rostered shifts including nights and weekends
- You MUST be a NZ Trained Registered Nurse who has completed a 3 year Bachelor of Nursing Degree in a NZ training institute
- Be registered to work and have a current APC
- Have an interest in working in a technical role that sits alongside your nursing skills
- Only experience considered for this role is if you have worked in the following areas in a large NZ hospital for a minimum of 2 years:
- THEATRE,
- EMERGENCY
- PACU
- ICU/HDU
