Senior Advisor, Commercial at Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, Wellington

As Senior Advisor, Commercial, you will provide advice and support to commercial activities across a broad pipeline of work and products. Your Team Leader will assign you work and support you to work across our Delivery group through our matrix management model.
Your duties will include:
- Working with internal and external partners to determine the best commercial approach.
- Providing advice on commercial and financial requirements to enable the delivery of the identified housing solution.
- Identify commercial and financial risks and advise on how they could be mitigated.
- Escalating any factors that may impact on the viability and delivery of the housing solution.
- Working closely with place-based teams to build relationships with stakeholders and deliver fit for purpose housing solutions.
- Ensuring timelines are met for projects that you are leading or contributing to, including supporting investment assessment and approval processes and reporting.
- Contribute to, or lead, projects that improve workplace processes and ways of working.
The salary range for this role is $102,699 - $125,521 + 3% Kiwisaver contribution.

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate experience in negotiating and developing commercial deals, ideally within the housing sector. You will apply expert financial analysis and sound investment judgement, with a good knowledge of project finance. You'll also enjoy applying your practical skills to make the complex simple.
Ideally your skills and experience will include:
- A practical and solutions focused approach
- An understanding of government, particularly as it relates to housing
- A track record of providing sound and trusted advice
- Being highly proficient in financial modelling and analysis
